14th-15th Feb
We travelled from KL to Mersing by bus on the 14th of Feb at 11pm from BTS. The journey took about 6 hours and we reached Mersing at the early hour of 5am. We initially wanted to go to the jetty but just aimlessly walked to a mamak stall and ordered some food to eat. Couldn't beat the sleepiness so we walked in and booked a room at the bluewater hotel just for a couple of hours rest before our ferry at 1.30pm.
The ferry to Tioman Island took about 2 and a half hour. We chose to do our OW course in Salang Bay with our instructor and it was the last stop of the ferry at the island. Reached there around 4pm. Greeted by our instructor, briefed about the course for the next day and met another two student divers who're gonna do the course with us.
16th Feb
Had some biscuits as breakfast as I know I couldn't eat too much before going into water. G discussed the knowledge review on PADI OW manual and we learnt how to set up our diving equipments. BRWAF
1st: gather all your equipments (BCD, regulator, tank, fin, snorkel mask, weight belt)
2nd: secure BCD with the tank, check pressure, inflate BCD, alternate air source, check ur buddy's andddd final ok? ok ? :D
off we go to the sea for the confined skills (shallow water, about 2-3m).... nervous nervous!!!
Honestly i can't remember the full list of skills that we had done underwater, i can only remember a few that shock the hell outta my life.. like removing mask under water and swim without it.. inflating BCD with mouth :/ (not on the first day)
Had fried rice as lunch but shared with ken. Definitely cant go into the water again in the afternoon with full stomach.
Afternoon we went for deeper dive and logged it as 1st Open water dive. Saw some fishes.?
Visibility is reallllllyyyyyyyyy bad :(
I had bad seasick underwater... didnt know it was that bad!!!
Both of us were quite discourage after finding ourselves hard to adapt to underwater.
17th Feb
Same routine, it's like going to school. Morning briefing, equipment set up, knowledge review and go into the sea for confined water skill. Afternoon open water dive. Learnt to descend...forgot to equalize!!! that's no good!!! Have to equalize.. equalize equalize equalize!!! Embarrassingly I vomited (haha....) after I resurfaced while finning back to shore...........and the consequence of not equalizing enough, I had some temporary hearing problem with my ears.. like i cant hear clear enough to my surrounding sounds.
18th Feb
Today is slightly special because we dived from jetty..! with Giant Stride! holy moly the steps at the jetty were so slippery i was so afraid of slipping. Seasick throughout T.T
19th Feb
