Review Skin Care product
I always have troubles when it comes to the time of the month a.k.a. menses/period.
I tend to have acne outbreak (always, 99% on the T-zone and chin on my face) during my period no matter how good I take care of my skin.
These are the few facial products I have tried out so far and I just want to give an honest opinion on how it works on me.
Face Wash :
I had used Johnson & Johnson's face wash from my whole teenage life. Never had any issues with it.
I like how un-oily it made my face feel after using it.
After going into university, I explored a bunch of random face wash.
My sister recommended me using Massada but i find the particle hurts my face alot so I didn't like it.
Then my bf's sister recommend him to use another korean brand facewash - which I love the smell alot but it is costly!! 98MYR per bottle. I bought like 3...in 2016-2017.
Fast forward to 2018, I was still using the korean facewash as mention.
Until I started going to facial sessions in 2018, I tried Skin Code (a Switzerland brand).
I love the face wash so much, they are very gentle on the skin.
I bought a package of it - face wash, toner, oil control, lip balm and moisturizer cream.
Toner
Skin code toner , again, love them. Gentle on skin, no excessive scent.
Moisturizer
I personally did not find it exceptionally great. It was just somehow too sticky on my face. I did not buy a second one after I finished the first bottle.
Before using skincode moisturizer, my go-to is always Laneige. The water bank series is my fav plus I like the scent. Again, maybe I was too young to appreciate the effect when I used it in 2008 during the winter in Korea - my skin was cracking and I found this wonderful product saved my skin.
Now I'm using Kiehl's face cream and I'm liking it. It is cold the instance I put it on, and not sticky. I like moisturizer that is not sticky.
Lip Balm (rate based on 5 stars)
This is selling in Watson - Lip Ice Apple flavor is my go-to. 12MYR
☆
Kiehl's lip mask - doesn't help with my dry cracked lips no matter how religiously I put it. 120MYR!! damn it's expensive
Skin code lip balm - I honestly tried this because I love the other products and I thought it would help me, but nope, I'm disappointed. And it was not cheap!! 80MYR!
☆
La Roche-Posay
☆☆☆
My friend recommended me this latest brand that I'm using - La Roche Posay lip balm. So far it's been pretty okay. Time will tell if it is good enough for me to continue using it.
=====================================================
I seem to have forgotten about my acne topic.
Previously I tried the oil control by skin code - kinda worked for the first and only time, the rest were just painful , ineffective stories. Again, it wasn't cheap MYR 270.

So during the latest hormonal acne breakout, I had this painful cystic acne beneath my skin just right at the centre of my chin (OUCH!! :(
I desperately wanted to POP THAT SHIT OUT but I can't, there's nothing to be popped T.T
I couldn't bear with the pain, even with me trying to pop it, my chin became so inflamed, red and painful. I suffered for almost one week prior because I was naive, hoping that the acne can be popped TwT.
I frantically went on google and searched for acne helping kit - La Roche Posay showed up. I bought the anti-acne starter kit - face wash + effaclar cream.
It did help to reduce the swelling in about 2 days time - the skin for that area was "dried up" after application. So far so good, let's see how it helps with the next breakout.
My sister recommended me The Ordinary - I will try that next time if La Roche-Posay doesn't work for me.
That's all for now!
